Dr. Rustom
MD, FAAP
Dr. Rustom is a graduate of the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and attained his medical degree at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He completed his internship and pediatric residency at the prestigious Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. After several years of practice with Piedmont Primary Care, Dr. Rustom founded Piedmont Pediatrics in 1996. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His professional interests include newborn medicine as well as children affected by autism and ADHD. He is the current president and financial officer of Piedmont Pediatrics. Dr. Rustom has worked with area high schools to sponsor career shadow programs to promote student interest in the medical profession. He has also been voted “Best Pediatrician” by Warrenton’s Lifestyle Magazine.
Dr. Rustom is an accomplished musician who plays both piano and guitar in a local band. He is an avid tennis player however his favorite pastime is spending time with his two children.

Dr. Juanpere
MD, FAAP
Dr. Juanpere received her medical degree from Boston University in 1994 and completed her pediatric residency at Boston City Hospital in Massachusetts. Prior to receiving her medical degree, she graduated with a Masters Degree in Laboratory Management with a minor in Hematology/Immunohematology from Catholic University. She moved to Warrenton and joined Dr. Rustom as a senior partner and managing member of Piedmont Pediatrics. She has served as Chief Financial Officer and spearheaded the initial implementation of a new electronic medical records system at Piedmont Pediatrics.
Dr. Juanpere is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is registered as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and is an instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program. She is currently chair of the OB/Peds Committee at Fauquier Hospital.
Dr. Juanpere grew up in Northern Virginia and now resides in Fauquier County. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and is working to earn a certificate in digital photography from the New York Institute of Photography.

Diana Chalmeta,
MD
Dr.Chalmeta was born in Madrid, Spain and moved to the United States at age 4. She grew up in Annandale and attended the University of Virginia where she majored in Biology with a minor in Religious Studies. She then went to the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond for medical school and residency. She completed a dual residency in Pediatric and Internal Medicine and is board certified in both.
Dr. Chalmeta moved to Warrenton in September 1999 to join Piedmont Primary Care’s departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. In 2007, with the move of Piedmont Pediatrics to its wonderful new building she made the difficult decision to fully commit to her practice there and to focus on pediatrics.
Dr. Chalmeta has 3 children who attend Brumfield Elementary. She has served as Co-chair and then Chair of the Department of Medicine at Fauquier Hospital. She currently serves Fauquier Hospital as a member of the Peer Review Committee. Dr. Chalmeta volunteers her time regularly at the Fauquier Free Clinic, where her husband is the director. Her interests include spending time outdoors, entertaining at home, and enjoying the arts.

Joshua A. Jakum,
MD, FAAP
Dr. Jakum is an honors graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park, where he was awarded magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa membership and completed his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Jakum performed his internship and pediatric residency at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. After practice for two years in North Carolina, Dr. Jakum joined Piedmont Pediatrics in 2003.
Dr. Jakum is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He currently holds the position of Chair of Fauquier Hospital’s Bioethics Committee, Medical Director for Pediatric Advanced Life Support at Fauquier Hospital and a member of the Hospital and Health System's Board of Directors. Dr. Jakum is an avid instructor and preceptor of students in medicine and nursing. His special interests include medical ethics, international adoption, and breastfeeding support. He was honored in 2008 and 2010 as a “Top Doctor” in Pediatrics by physician survey in the Washingtonian Magazine and voted “Best Pediatrician” by the readership of Warrenton Lifestyle Magazine in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
With his wife and three children, Dr. Jakum lives in Warrenton, Virginia.

Debbie Hayes RN FNP-C
Debbie is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, who brings over twenty-five years of pediatric nursing experience to her practice. Debbie graduated in1981 from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA with a BSN. Debbie worked as a RN at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center and the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District. Debbie completed her MSN and Nurse Practitioner programs at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1995. Before joining Piedmont Pediatrics, Debbie was a Nurse Practitioner at Culpeper Pediatrics. Debbie is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.
